Growing up, I had a very different idea of what "adult" fashion would look like. I imagined my future self in crisp blazers, pencil skirts, and heels, striding confidently into an important meeting—maybe even ordering a black coffee like a ‘Real Professional’. Instead, I dress like a Hot Topic Lesbian™ from 2004, stacking rings like infinity stones, wearing too much black eyeliner and pairing my band tees with combat boots.
At some point, I realized that I didn’t want to dress to meet someone else's expectations. I wanted to dress to express myself, have fun, and be seen by my community.
Fashion became my language. I learned that certain choices were like a secret handshake. A well-placed MUNA hoodie? A Lauren Sanderson tee? A thumb ring? A pink and orange keychain? Scissor necklaces? That’s not just accessories, that’s a signal. The moment I stepped into my true style, I started getting clocked.
I grew up seeing endless articles about what women should and shouldn’t wear past a certain age. "Dressing too young" was framed as a crime, as if joy and self-expression had an expiration date.
So, I documented my outfits tof the week to showcase what "grown-up" fashion looks like on my terms.
And if you’ve ever worried about dressing “too young” or “too bold,” let me be the first to say: Wear what makes you feel like the main character.
Because life is way too short for boring clothes—and I’ll take sapphic telepathy over a pencil skirt any day.
